Our Team

Doctors

General practitioners (GPs) treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment. They focus on the health of the whole person, combining physical, psychological and social aspects of care. Our GPs are highly trained doctors who deal with medical problems where you may feel acutely ill, or for follow up for an ongoing problem.

When you have a consultation at Chartfield, you may be seen by one of our regular GPs, by a GP who is a locum (contracted for a certain number of hours), or by a GP who is undergoing training. Our GP trainees are qualified doctors who are undertaking part of their Foundation (FY) or Specialist Training (ST) years at the Surgery. They are fully qualified to treat you. 

We are a training practice, accredited by the London Deanery to teach doctors who are undertaking their General Practice specialist training. Registrars and Foundation doctors are fully qualified and practice under the supervision of Dr Oliver, Dr Uddin and Dr Ayaz.  Registrars in General Practice are our GPs of the future. Prospective GPs now spend a minimum of five years in training following graduation from medical school.

Other Clinicians

Physician Associates (PAs) are medically trained, generalist healthcare professionals who work alongside doctors and provide medical care as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. PAs are dependent practitioners working with a dedicated medical supervisor, but are able to work autonomously with appropriate support. Batool will work alongside our GPs, practice nurses and HCA to help with delivering healthcare to our patients, under GP supervision and guidance at all times.

Primary Care Network (PCN) Pharmacists support GP practices by focusing on the management of long-term conditions and conducting medication reviews. Working closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals, the PCN pharmacist helps optimise medication regimens for patients with chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. They review patients' medications to ensure effectiveness, safety, and adherence, providing tailored advice to improve health outcomes and reduce hospital admissions. By addressing potential drug interactions, side effects, and patient concerns, the PCN pharmacist enhances overall patient care and supports the efficient functioning of the primary care team.

Nurses & Healthcare Assistants

In recent years, the role of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in General Practice surgeries has greatly expanded, and the illnesses and conditions that they can deal with have increased. The nurse team undertake various duties at Chartfield Surgery including taking ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, running Asthma and COPD clinics, taking cervical smears, providing ear care and giving immunisations including childhood, travel, influenza, and tetanus jabs. The nursing team are ably supported by our Healthcare Assistants.

Management

The efficient running of Chartfield Surgery could not be achieved without our dedicated staff of management, receptionists, administrators and secretaries led by our Practice Management team.
